“This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.” Romans 2:16
Over the past several months, whenever we’ve had an occasion for soup at church, one lady will bring her tortilla soup.
I love it!
Last time we had it, I ate two bowls because I liked it so much.
I’d asked her for the recipe several times, but she’d been tightlipped.
Today she finally divulged her secret recipe*.
The secret is she adds hamburger.
LOL is right!
Now her secret is out.
*Name scratched out to protect the innocent or guilty, but she’s the one who makes the good tortilla soup.

In alternating years, my family had Thanksgiving with friends in MO. Each year, we marveled at the turkey stuffing/dressing, and Mom asked for the recipe. Our hostess was tightlipped about that, saying, "It's an old family recipe we don't share."
ReplyDeleteDetermined to get clues about it, Mom excused herself from the dinner table and went to the kitchen for "more water." As she snooped, she looked in the wastebasket and found the answer to the "family recipe:" an empty sack of Pepperidge Farm Herbal Stuffing! 8-) "It's an old family recipe" now has a reveered place in our family lexicon! --- Cathy Olson Bowden
