“Every prudent man acts out of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly.” Proverbs 13:16
This picture exemplifies why I should probably not be a stay-at-home-mother.
I take things too personal. And I've got too much time on my hands.
When the toilet won’t flush, I wage war. I plot its death and demise. I fantasize about smashing it with a sledgehammer. I dream of a new toilet that will flush a bucket of golf balls.
Not that we could flush golf balls. We’re on septic, you know.
Then the toilet often corrects its errant ways and behaves itself for a while again, leading me to believe that everything will be fine without my stepping in.
But I don’t forget.
Then a night like last night comes and I hear glug, glug, glug, and the spinning whirlpool on the way down is just a tad too slow for my liking. Same story this morning.
And so it was, high on hours and hours of watching TLC and HGTV and DIY Network from months of being at home, that I broke out the bolt cutters and removed my toilet.
Unfortunately, I’m more of a demolition girl that a renovation girl.
The truth is I’ve made a huge mess.
The hub will most likely clean it up and make it all nice for me again.
He completes me… Or at least my projects!
I have a dream, though, to one day complete a project on my own. It's just that he's better at measuring and cutting and nailing and those kinds of things. I'm more of an eye-baller and apparently that doesn't work out too well in construction.
I think I’ll go rip out the flooring too!
Or go watch some more HGTV.
I may need just a few more pointers…
